Bat Kol Association (Registered Non-Profit) (hereinafter: the “Association” or “Bat Kol”) respects the privacy of users of its website, operated at the internet address https://bat-kol.org and any additional address as determined by Bat Kol from time to time (hereinafter: the “Website”).

This Privacy Policy explains the privacy practices applicable to the Website. Among other matters, it describes how Bat Kol uses information provided by you and information collected about you during your use of the Website and the Association’s services. In this policy, the term “Personal Information” means any information that can reasonably be used to identify you, including your full name, address, telephone number, email address, and similar details.

This Privacy Policy constitutes an integral part of the Website’s Terms of Use. The policy is written in the masculine form for convenience only and applies equally to all genders and identities.

Reporting a Violation of Privacy

Representatives of the Association are available to address any request, question, or complaint.

Providing Personal Information to the Association

Use of the Website itself does not require registration or the provision of Personal Information. However, certain sections and features of the Website—such as contact forms, registration for events and activities, joining study groups, registration for conferences and workshops, subscription to mailing lists, online donations, and volunteering—may require the provision of Personal Information.

Mandatory fields will be clearly marked. Failure to provide the required information may prevent completion of the registration or requested action. You undertake to provide only accurate and complete information.

Bat Kol may retain additional information regarding your inquiries and correspondence with the Association, including requests and personal assistance provided.

If you provide Personal Information relating to a third party, you hereby declare that you have obtained that person’s explicit consent to provide such information for use in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information Collected During Use of the Website

During your use of the Website, Bat Kol may collect information regarding your usage patterns, including:

  • Pages viewed, actions taken, and services of interest

  • IP address, browser type, operating system, and device type

  • Sending updates, newsletters, information about the Association’s activities, and relevant content related to LGBTQ+ pride, Jewish law, women’s leadership, Jewish feminist scholarship, education, and related fields (subject to consent)

  • Improving the user experience on the Website and in the Association’s activities

  • Maintaining contact with the community of members, volunteers, and participants

  • Complying with legal obligations and lawful requests from competent authorities

  • Enforcing the Website’s Terms of Use

Disclosure of Information to Third Parties

Bat Kol will not transfer Personal Information to third parties except in the following circumstances:

  • For the purpose of providing services (such as payment processors, mailing systems, or virtual meeting platforms)

  • Pursuant to a judicial order or legal requirement

  • In the event of a legal claim between you and the Association

  • Where disclosure is necessary to prevent serious harm to a person or property

  • As part of a structural change in the Association (such as a merger or transfer of activities), subject to the new entity’s commitment to this Privacy Policy

  • Transfer of anonymous or aggregated information that does not personally identify you

The Website uses cookies to ensure proper operation, collect statistical data, personalize services and user preferences, and for information security purposes.

Right to Access and Correction

Pursuant to Israel’s Protection of Privacy Law, 1981, every individual is entitled to review information held about them in databases and to request correction, updating, or deletion of such information. Such requests should be directed to the Association via email at: info@batkol.org.il.

Storage of Information Outside Israel

Information collected through the Website may be stored on servers located outside the State of Israel. By using the Website, you consent to such storage.

Changes to This Policy

Bat Kol reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. In the event of material changes, a notice will be published on the Website. Continued use of the Website constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

Cancellation of a Remote Transaction Due to Defect, Non-Conformity, Late Delivery, or Other Breach of Contract

In such cases, the seller must refund the consumer within 14 days from the date the cancellation notice is received, collect the product from the consumer’s home, and may not charge cancellation fees.

Cancellation of a Remote Transaction for Any Other Reason

The consumer must return the product to the seller at the consumer’s expense.
The seller may charge cancellation fees of 5% of the product or transaction price or ILS 100, whichever is lower.
If installation of the product was performed at the consumer’s home for the purpose of providing the service, the seller may charge installation expenses of up to ILS 100 (in addition to cancellation fees, provided the cancellation is not due to a defect or non-conformity).

In any case, the seller must refund the consumer within 14 days from the date the cancellation notice is received.

Shipping and Delivery

The product will be shipped using a delivery method chosen by the Association, via an external shipping company.
Delivery times are subject to the terms and ongoing operations of the shipping company at the time of the order.
The maximum delivery time will not exceed the period set by law, unless explicitly stated otherwise at the time of purchase.

Minimum Age for Purchase

Purchases on the Website are permitted only for users aged 18 and over.
Completing a purchase constitutes a declaration by the purchaser that they meet this age requirement.

Limitation of Liability

The Association and/or anyone acting on its behalf shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damage, financial or otherwise, resulting from use of the product, to the extent permitted by law.

Cancellation and Refund Policy – Services and Events

Legal Rights (Consumer Protection Regulations – Transaction Cancellation)

A transaction may be canceled within 14 days from the date of the order/purchase, and no later than 48 hours before the event date.

Any cancellation notice must be submitted through a formal email request.
The cancellation will take effect only after confirmation is received by email.

The refund will be issued to the original payment method within the time period set by the regulations, and no later than seven business days from the date of cancellation, subject to applicable law.
Refunds are also subject to the credit card company’s terms.

The customer will be charged lawful cancellation fees for any cancellation.

Customer-Friendly Extension

Without derogating from the above, participation may be canceled up to 48 hours before the event date (even if no statutory cancellation right applies at that time), subject to cancellation fees of 5% of the amount paid.
After this time, cancellation will not be possible unless otherwise stated on the event page or required by law.

Method of Submitting a Cancellation Notice

A written confirmation of cancellation will be sent to the email address provided. It is recommended to keep this confirmation.

Scope of Refund and Exceptions

The refund will include the amount actually paid, minus the cancellation fees detailed above.

Charges may apply for:

  • Fees or costs of third parties that cannot be refunded in practice (such as processing fees proven to have been incurred due to the cancellation), in accordance with the law.

  • Return of items accompanying the service (for example, a wristband or entry badge) in proper condition as a condition for the refund, subject to law.

Cancellation or Change by the Organizer

If an event is canceled, postponed, or materially changed, the customer will be offered a full refund or an alternative ticket for a new date, at the customer’s choice, subject to prior notice and provided instructions.

Privacy and Use of Personal Information

Bat-Kol respects the privacy of users and operates in accordance with the Protection of Privacy Law.
The Association collects and processes personal information only for defined purposes such as registration for activities, contact, provision of community services, and sending updates—while minimizing the scope of information collected and safeguarding it with appropriate security measures.

Users have the right to review their information and request correction or deletion, in accordance with the law.
Where required by law, the Association will appoint a privacy protection officer and implement appropriate oversight and information-management controls.
